Can swaddling cause my baby to overheat?

This helps regulate temperature and prevents your baby from overheating. Cotton is the most comfortable material for babies. Swaddling alone cannot cause overheating. Ensuring that thermostat temperatures are not too high and that your baby does not have too many layers on will keep your infant comfortable. However, if your baby’s tummy feels overly warm to touch or he/she is perspiring, stop swaddling for a while and see if it makes a difference.
